Melinda Schawel is an American/Australian artist living & working in Melbourne, Australia. She received a BA in Fine Art and Communication from the University of California Santa Barbara in 1993 and a Postgraduate Degree in Printmaking from RMIT in 1996. She has exhibited nationally & internationally since 1995, was a recent guest on The Art Show podcast, has been selected for many prestigious commissions and has been a finalist in the Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing, Nillumbik Prize & Fisher's Ghost Award. She will be one of the represented Flinders Lane Gallery artists at Denfair in 2017, was recently featured in the 'Not to Be Missed' section of Art Collector Magazine 2017 and in 2016 was reviewed in Artist Profile Magazine. She was artist in residence at the Art Vault in April 2016, her work has been published by Murtra Edicions in Spain and is represented in numerous collections including Crown Towers, Perth, the National Gallery of Australia & Artbank.
